Earlier this week on Sunday, Shahid Afridi met Najam Sethi in Dubai. In the meeting, they discussed the options for a farewell event for Afridi and his future with Pakistan Cricket Board.

Afridi, after meeting the Chairman ExCo, said that he’d reply soon to his offer. And well, the reply has come and it’s a “NO”.

In a tweet on Friday, Afridi thanked Najam Sethi for his offer but said he wouldn’t be able to take it due to personal commitments.

He further added that his desire was to create a trend in favour of cricketers and he is happy that Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan (who are retiring after West Indies series) are getting proper farewells.
